First of all its important to understand who exactly is a Vegan.
A Vegan avoids all animal products, which can be edible, like meat, poultry and milk or inedible like leather, wool
Vegans have strong belief regarding animal’s right and feel that animals should be protected under the same laws as humans. There are some points listed below which explain that how being a Vegan, you can help yourself and the society.
Discouraging Exploitation of Animals by avoiding animal products
- A glass of milk brings in more suffering to a cow rather than a steak in your plate because the later brings in the sudden killing but the former includes years of painful torture which ends painfully in a slaughterhouse. A lesser demand will obviously cut down the supply. It helps the Vegan being more merciful towards others and helps the society to be more tolerant.
- There have been lots of studies and researches with varying results, but a common outcome, accepted by nearly all these findings has been that cutting down on meat and moving to more
plant baseddiets will have beneficial impact on the environment by reducing carbon emission and control of methane gas. This way we will give a much healthier surrounding to our coming generation which will be a big boost for our society.
Extinction of Animal Breeds
- A big loss is the extinction of a lot of animals. Big Rainforests which are the natural habitat of a lot of rare insects and animals are being destroyed by poachers, because of which these species are getting lost every day. The situation is already at an alarming
stage, and is being highlighted everydayby activists. If this persists at the same pace, the day is not far, when we will have to make animated movies to show our kids how Lions and Tigers use to look like.
Food Supply for children in third world countries
- It’s shameful, but true that more than fifty percent children in third world countries are starving because the grain which could have been used to feed them, is being used as fodder for livestock, to be consumed by western countries. If only the demand drops, we can feed more humans.
Be curious, keep learning, bring in the change
- Going Vegan is a
self choiceand makes the person embark on a curve of self-learning. It takes a lot of courage to start the journey but once you take the steps, a plethora of learning comes your way. Once you control the temptations through the way, a sense of self beliefstarts building up which brings in a lotpersonal changes. Always remember, a person with self controlhas the abilities to influence lives and brings in a lot of positive changes in the society.
